EMF Calculator by MagShield
The MagShield EMF Calculator is an online application that can calculate the
electromagnetic field generated by multiple sets of electric circuits
(including 3-phase and earth components) across a given distance.
The calculator was built for MagShield
Products International P/L by Madhouse
Development. Versions for Microsoft Windows (EMF Calculator Desktop Edition) and Microsoft Windows
Mobile for Pocket PC (EMF Calculator Mobile Edition) are also available.

What's new
What's new in v2.5 (25th February 2009)
-
Allow models to be saved to a user's desktop for use in the Desktop Edition;
-
Allow models created in Desktop Edition to be imported from a user's desktop.
What's new in v2.4 (11th February 2008)
-
Extended model comparison to allow up to three models to be calculated simultaneously;
-
Improved responsiveness of the calculator using AJAX programming model;
-
Changed look and feel to improve usability.
What's new in v2.3 (11th January 2008)
-
Added a simple model calculation to allow non-subscribers to trial a limited subset of the EMF Calculator.
What's new in v2.2 (1st May 2007)
-
Added area graph showing magnetic field RMS levels across the calculation range;
-
Saved calculations presented in an easier to navigate format;
-
Upgraded to ASP.NET 2.0 to improve performance;
-
White space border removed to help on smaller resolution screens.
What's new in v2.1 (30th May 2006)
-
Two saved models can be calculated and compared simultaneously;
-
The file name of saved models can be changed on the 'Open a saved model' page;
-
A model can be run directly from the 'Open a saved model' page without stepping
through the wizard;
-
Added check on Circuit and Earth pages to warn user about moving to the next or
previous page without adding or updating circuit information;
-
Added information pages, including 'About us', 'About the calculator', 'Terms
and Conditions', 'Privacy statement' and 'Feedback';
-
Mirrored the phase graph vertically to comply with industry conventions;
-
Added profile information such as name, email, company and monthly usage
summaries to the application welcome screen;
-
Back button on the 'Open a saved model' page now returns to the start of the
model wizard (to avoid unexpected charge for a recalculated model);
-
Right navigation section reduced in size to help on smaller resolution screens.

The General Information page captures basic information
about the model such as a textual reference that can be used to identify the
model and parameters that describe the range across which EMF will be
calculated.
The Circuits page allows the addition of multiple three
phase wire circuits to the model. Each wire in the circuit can be located in 2
dimensions within the model. The Convert currents to power option
allows the modelling of circuits where active and reactive power is unknown but
the load on individual wires is known.
The Earths page allows the addition of earth return wires
into the model. The extra paramaters about the earth wire, such as resistance
and radius, can be described, as well as setting the soil resistivity.
The Results page has a visual representation of the model,
tables showing the input parameters and the horizontal, vertical, minimum,
maximum and rms EMF levels across the chosen distances.
Results can also be exported in a tabular format to Microsoft Excel (requires
Excel to be installed locally).
